"The Classic Evolves!" |

Ok, so what happens when you've been driving and building kit cars - in this case Beach Buggies - for years and have got fed up with the shortcomings of your current mode of transport? Well, Bruce Meyers created the basic design for the Beach Buggy way back in 1963 and until now, it has not changed that much over the years. However, in 1999 we (Simon Chadwick and Richard Crees) decided to take the basic ethos of the beach buggy idea and modernise it. The all new Doon Buggy is the fruit of our labours, the name Doon coming from the Black County (a distinct area in the West Midlands) pronunciation of the word Dune, as well as allowing for the design of the company logo. Having been involved with the construction and restoration of numerous beach buggies for over 15 years, as well as being founder members and committee members of the Midland Buggy Club, it was easy for us to analyse the good and bad points of previous buggy designs. These experiences have led us to take the classic buggy design back to first principles and re-design a brand new buggy kit for the modern day. Or as we like to think of it, the humble beach buggy has now evolved. The all new Doon is not a simple copy or minor modification of an older design but has been designed and built entirely from scratch. The result is something we really like and are proud to be associated with. We hope you like it too! Chad & Rich
